Meet Our Team

The staff at South Franklin Animal Hospital is a team in so many ways, not only with each other, but with our clients. We are always excited to be part of the team in caring for our client's pets. We feel it is important that we know them by name, and what makes them special. The SFAH members are trained extensively with online resources, and monthly meetings. We know how important communication with our clients is in overall success with care. We strive to ensure everyone is on the same page with hospital protocols, procedures, diets, and supplements.

Hannah S. Coggin, LVT started with SFAH as a part time kennel caretaker in 2009, while going to school for nursing. She continued working with us while attending and graduating from Columbia State Veterinary Technician Program in 2013. Hannah has passed her boards and is now our Licensed Veterinary Technician.

It has been a pleasure over the last years to support  Hannah's growth in  Vet Med and Life. Mentoring her has been a life honor for Dr. Sammons.   She is an amazing nurse- partner, by my side in good and bad.  She has a bright future in the vet  field, with certification in fear free, and moving to be certified in euthanasia.  Hannah is very well rounded with the foundation of animal care, excels in lab work and surgery, and has  mastered multitasking and running a small animal single doctor practice. Hannah married her best friend  in 2020, David to become Mrs Hannah Coggin. They have Dallas, David's beloved childhood chow chow, Ernie, Hannah's highly immature cat, and together they have Hampton a shih zu puppy.

Abby Baines has been part of  SFAH  team since 2009, while in high school.  Abby graduated in 2014, from MTSU, and will attend Occapational Therapist Assistant School. Abby is married to Jay with two daughters, Skylar and Hayden.

**Abby has moved on in her life now in 2020 going back to work in the Occupational therapy field. She will be missed and loved always.

Grace Schwarz    is Dr Sammons' daughter. She graduated from Independence High School in May of 2020. Grace is waiting to go to college at TRC in Symrna TN 2021. She loves being at the hospital with her mom and Hannah, and most of all adores clients and patients.
